Literary Theory: Search

In Literary Theory there are two search screens, Standard Search and Glossary Search.

From both of the Search pages, you can use the Page Toolbar to open a context-sensitive Help page or to clear the Search form.

From every page in Literary Theory you can use the Right-Hand Toolbar to consult general information about Literary Theory, to start a new search, to access the top-level Table of Contents page and to switch between components of Individual Literature Collections.

You can access both of the Search pages by clicking the Refine Search icon on the Page Toolbar of any of Literary Theory pages. Your original search terms will be preserved in the Search form. You can start a fresh search by clicking on the New Search icon on the Right-Hand Toolbar.

You can carry out Standard Search in Literary Theory using a combination of the following search fields:

From the Glossary Search you can search on either or both of the following fields:

To conduct a search, either type the required search terms (individual words or phrases) into the relevant search boxes or select them from a browse index or drop-down list.

In the Search page, you can combine search terms using Boolean and searching and search for variations on search terms using truncation.

Note: Between search boxes, all terms are treated by default as if they were combined using the Boolean operator AND.

When you have finished making your selections, click Search. The Summary of Results in Context page will appear displaying the results of your search.
