Literary Theory: Full text Display
The Literary Theory database full text display generally follows the manner in which it originally appears in its printed source text. The contents of the volumes themselves follow their copy texts in structure and order so that headings and divisions within the copy text are preserved in the database. The following standard display formats have been used:
- Main headings and captions are centred and in bold.
- Unhighlighted verse is displayed as standard Roman. Small capitals are displayed in bold. Arguments and epigraphs generally display in italics and are centred.
- Page numbers are displayed in square brackets.
- Line indents reflect the indents in the copy text. Runover metrical lines are not indented since line length can vary depending on the size of the browser window.
- The positions of figures are indicated by icons.
