Literary Theory: Summary of results in context

From the Summary of results in context page, you can use the Page Toolbar to open a context-sensitive Help page or to refine your original search.

From every page in Literary Theory you can use the Right-Hand Toolbar to consult general information about Literary Theory, to start a new search, to access the top-level Table of Contents page and to link to other Individual Literature Collections.

The Summary of results in context page displays the results of your search in context and it is arranged so that all levels of data are displayed down to the occurrence of the hit. In the case of a Keyword search the hit will be displayed in a line of context with five words either side. Each hit is indicated by a hit icon in the line of context. Where your search consists solely of non-keyword elements, for example if you search for all works of a particular author, the Summary of results in context will display all works by that particular author.

In the line above the Summary of results in context display, you will see the number of occurences of your search term(s) and the number of entries in which your search term(s) appears. Also, if the Summary of results in context spans more than one page, the number of pages will display. As these page numbers are linked to the relevant page, you can use these links to navigate your way through the Summary of results in context.

Each level of the Summary of results in context is marked with the number of occurrences of your search expression.

Only five hits per work are displayed, and if there are more hits contained in a work than are shown the link [View context of all hits in this work] is displayed below the entry. Click this link to display the Context of results screen, which gives a full listing of hits. From this screen you can link to the previous work, next work, or return to the Summary of results in context screen.

You can download the Full text of any work by selecting it in the Summary of results in context. Each level displays the download size in bytes of the corresponding Full text page.

Note: The larger the download size of an item, the longer the Full text will take to download.
